A birthday and an anniversary are the perfect time to stop and tell my husband a few important things. If they are things I have said before, they are worth repeating.
1. I still want to grow old with you.
We have crammed a whole lot of amazing and difficult stuff into the last six years. I can’t imagine doing any of it without you. Geez, I probably couldn’t have done some of it without you.
2. You make me a better person.
I never thought I would have been able to love or trust again. The way you have patiently loved me and shown grace to me, has taught me how to better love others. Plus, I have laughed more and enjoyed finding my sweet spot as Mrs. Barron.
3. I fall more in love with God every day being married to you.
To remember where I have been and to acknowledge where I am now makes me still want to pinch myself. To think that God had a plan for us to swirl our families and to have a ministry together just blows my mind. It reminds me that God cares for every person and has a specific plan unique for everyone.
4. You are sexy!
When you are tucked away in a quiet spot reading your Bible is when I find you the most sexy. The way you choose to lead our family by following Jesus sure is super cute. Having a Godly man as my husband makes me feel safe and blessed.
5. You are an amazing father.
The way you adore our kids is so fun to watch. I love how you guide them, challenge them, love on them, and support them. I have watched my two girls heal so much by having you as a daddy. Thank you!
6. I remember two very important things you said to me on our wedding day that have stuck.
I remember when you wanted to see me right before we got married. I wasn’t sure I wanted you to do that but you stressed that it was super important. You spent a quiet moment telling me how I was special and how my past didn’t matter to you because it didn’t matter to God. You then assured me that you didn’t have any doubts at all. You told me you wanted me to be confident about being Mrs. Barron so you listed all the ways I was perfect for you. I have never forgotten that.
7. I want to tell you thank you.
Thank you for taking that time away when you stopped dating me (even though I never thought I would experience a breakup at age 39). I am so grateful you prayed about dating me and marrying me. To know that you checked with Jesus before just making a decision based on your own thoughts has been something I still think about even now.
8. I am excited!
It is only fitting that on this anniversary we are out of town getting ready to minister, encourage and love on people we have never met. I love going wherever God wants us to go and being whatever God wants us to be. The best part is doing it together. I love you more every day and I am excited to see where we are headed. Through the best and worst times, there is something really exciting knowing that God still has a specific plan for The Barron Bunch. That is worth being excited about.
Happy Birthday, Anniversary and Familyversary. I am so in love with you!
