The world needed a conquering hero that first Christmas. God sent us a baby. We needed a military genius to overthrow our oppressors. God sent us a teacher. We needed a great leader to help us overcome against our enemies. God sent us a Sacrifice who taught us how to serve one another and to pray for our enemies. We asked for formulas and religions so we could know that we were saved. God told us to simply believe the One He had sent. Two thousands years later, God still does things His way and in His time . And He still proves His way is best. My prayer this Christmas is that we may all open our hearts to receive the child of Bethlehem, the teacher of Galilee, the servant of Nazareth and the sacrifice of Calvary for He, alone, is the Hero we were waiting for all along.
For all of those who follow mine and Lisa’s blogs and who continue to support what our family does as a ministry, may you know the peace of this Christmas like never before. God bless each of you.
Strengthen the feeble hands, steady the knees that give way; say to those with fearful hearts, “Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution he will come to save you.” Isaiah 34:3-5 NIV
